3rd Abuja SMEs Expo:250 entrepreneurs exhibit products

Over two hundred and fifty exhibitors in different sectors including fashion and agriculture, are taking part in the 3rd Abuja SMEs Expo which kicked off on Thursday.

The Acting Managing Director of the Abuja Enterprise Agency Mallam Shehu Abdulkadir said the three days event is aimed to create market access to entrepreneurs within the Federal Capital Territory FCT. 

Abdulkadir said various financial support agencies  as well as regulatory agencies are on ground to see how to partner with the entrepreneurs and counsel them on better output, that would meet global standards. 

Also speaking, the Director General Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency SMEDAN Olawale Fasanya said the agency would continue to provide capacity building as well as access to funds on single interest to the qualified applicants.

“When people bring out their products in this kind of exposition, they are able to access market. And the good thing about this event is that big players  have been invited to see the products of MSMEs so they can buy from them.

” Another benefit is to build the capacity of MSMEs to do better packaging.But if they don’t come out like this,we will not know if their packaging is effective.” Fasanya said.

A participant, Maria Amos, said she brought various sweeteners made naturally for use in tea and other drinks for better nutrition. “I expects sales at this expo and see how to partner with various agencies to mprove on my products.”she added.
