Ministry of Interior honours retirees

The Ministry of Interior has celebrated officers who retired after years of distinguished and meritorious service to the Federal Government.

Speaking at the send-forth ceremony held in Abuja, the Minister of Interior Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, described the retirees as pillars of institutional strength and professionalism.  

“Your years of sacrifice, dedication, and commitment to duty have contributed immensely to the growth and stability of this Ministry. You leave behind not just years of service, but legacies of excellence,” he stated.

In a statement signed by Head, Press & Public Relations Ministry of Interior,Mary Ali (Mrs) he urged the retirees to remain ambassadors of integrity and professionalism, adding that their experience would remain valuable to the Ministry.  “Retirement from active service does not mean retirement from impact. We will continue to draw from your wealth of knowledge and experience whenever necessary,” he added.

On behalf of the nation’s leadership, the Minister expressed gratitude to the officers for mentoring younger staff and serving as custodians of institutional memory. He prayed for their good health, peace, and fulfilment in retirement.

Earlier, the Director of Human Resource Management, Mrs. Catherine  N. Zosi, commended the retirees for their unblemished records and dedication to national service. “Your legacies will continue to inspire  officers within this Ministry,” she said.

The ceremony featured goodwill messages from colleagues, retirees and the presentation of commendation certificates and gifts to the retirees.
