The Country Director of New Faces New Voices (NFNV) Nigeria, Aishatu Debola Aminu, has said  the organisation is working tirelessly to lift women out of the poverty line with ”dignity’.

Aishatu stated this at a workshop in Lagos tagged: “Women in leadership: a catalyst in advancing financial inclusion for women in MSMEs”.

“When we say, we want to move women out of poverty with dignity, the thinking of most women especially the young ones is that, I can use my personal endowment to make money but it doesn’t last. So, that’s what we mean by moving women out of poverty with dignity. You don’t have to think that you can use  your body to get what you want. We want women to start thinking out of the box , use your skills, your brain.”She said.

The NFNV Nigeria country director added that women are very creative and can use their creativity to get what they want instead of the other way round.

Director of programs, Graca Machel Trust SA, Shipra Chisha, also urged women to seek information in other to have unhindered access to capital.

“Women need to take some level of risks to be able to access capital so that they can move from small businesses to medium and large to be able to create wealth.”She said.
