The Federal Fire Service today conducted a scheduled fire safety simulation and evacuation exercise at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen emergency preparedness in public facilities.
The drill, held at about 10:00 hours on Thursday, 19th February, 2026, was supervised by the Head, Enforcement Unit, Superintendent of Fire Murtala Muhammed, and his team. The exercise assessed emergency response procedures and the readiness of occupants and safety personnel within the facility.
A statement signed by the National PROÂ Head, Corporate Services Federal Fire Service, National Headquarters,DCF P.O. Abraham disclosed that following the exercise and safety assessment, the facility was confirmed to be fire safety compliant and duly certified by the Federal Fire Service.
The Service commends the management and occupants of Transcorp Hilton for their cooperation and commitment to safety standards.
Periodic drills such as this are essential in strengthening preparedness, preventing incidents, and ensuring the protection of lives and property. Any report suggesting a fire outbreak during the exercise is inaccurate and resulted from a misunderstanding of the routine safety drill.
