The Federal Fire Service has promoted 74 officers to the position of Chief Superintendant.
While decorating the officers in Abuja today, the Controller-General of the Service, Engr. Abudulganiyu Jaji told the officers that their promotion is a result of hardwork adding that it has come with more responsibility.
” One thing I want the new officers to have at the back of their mind is that to whom much is given, much is expected. This rank is the rank that gives you more responsibility to carry.
” I want to say it clearly here so your spouses will hear. As long as we are decorating you now, we are filing your name so we can post you to other formations. Many of you will meet yourselves in the zones and in the state. We have realised that some of the Acting Controllers in the states are less than your rank. And if we are having 74 of you in Abuja, if we post you out of Abuja, it will be better for the Service.”Jaji said.
The Controller-General further stated that going forward, promotion to the next rank will be after training.
He said: ” Training will make you eligible for promotion. It is important that you attend the training. If you don’t attend the training, you will not be promoted. The Service is going digital so we need to be digital and become intellectuals so we can represent the service confidently. If we don’t train you,you cannot be equipped.”
Jaji congratulated the 74 new Chief Superintendants adding that this promotion will not be the last.
