In a moment of pride and inspiration for Nigeria and the entire African continent, Fatima Mohammed Habib, fondly known as The Voice of Borno, has been nominated for The Future Awards Africa Prize for Community Action 2025.
The Future Awards Africa (TFAA) often described as the “Nobel Prize for young Africans” celebrates exceptional young leaders driving transformation across the continent. The Prize for Community Action specifically honors individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to improving lives, strengthening communities, and advocating for social change.
At just 26 years old, Fatima Mohammed Habib has become one of Nigeria’s most influential young humanitarians. As the Founder and Executive Director of the Advocacy for Human Value Foundation, she has spent over a decade working to rebuild lives and restore dignity in conflict-affected communities across Northeastern Nigeria.
Growing up in Borno State, the epicenter of the Boko Haram insurgency Fatima witnessed the pain and displacement caused by conflict. Instead of turning away, she turned that pain into purpose. Through her foundation, she has led initiatives providing education, mental health support, and empowerment programs for internally displaced persons (IDPs), while amplifying the voices of marginalized communities.
Her projects, such as Voices of Healing, have brought psychosocial care and hope to thousands of children and women who have endured years of conflict. Her leadership continues to inspire a new generation of young Nigerians committed to peace, service, and humanity.
