The Nigerian Correctional Service NCoS has unveiled the faces of fleeing inmates from Osun prison and offered a reward 5 million to anyone with information leading to their recapture.
It will be recalled that on Monday 20th May, seven inmates where said to have escaped from Medium Security Custodial Centre, Ilesa, Osun state following the rainfall that breached the security of its facility at the Medium.
However,the NCoS has now unveiled the faces of the inmates and offered to give N5 million to anyone who has useful information which will lead to their recapture.
A statement by the Deputy Controller of Corrections and Public Relations Officer Umar Abubakar, disclosed that an expansive manhunt has become necessary following their escape.
The statement reads in part:
“In order to encourage public participation , the Nigerian Correctional Service wishes to inform the general public that a reward of N5 million is being offered to anyone who provides useful information that leads to the recapture of the fleeing inmates from the Medium Custodial Centre, Ilesha, Osun State.
“The Service urges members of the public to report any information they may have regarding the whereabouts of the inmates at large to the nearest security agencies. All information will be treated with utmost confidentiality and anonymity.”
