The Commandant General (CG), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr.Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR. has appealed to Nigerians to exercise more tolerance and work cohesively for peaceful, stable and secured country.
The NSCDC helmsman made this appeal in commemoration of the 63rd Independence Anniversary of Nigeria, an annual event usually marked on every 1st October.
The NSCDC Public Relations Officer, CSC Afolabi Babawale, in a statement disclosed that Audi reiterates the Corps’ unwavering commitment and determination to the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure against vandalism and economic sabotage.
According to him, the NSCDC will continue to work assiduously in collaboration with other stakeholders; especially in the security circle towards ensuring safety of life and property of all Nigerians irrespective of creed or affiliation.
He said, though the country is heterogeneous in nature in view of ethnicity, language and religion, its strength lies in the diversities, and therefore admonishes all to work harmoniously for the growth of the nation.
The Commandant General assures Nigerians that the Corps and all relevant state actors are working round the clock to enhance the security situation in the country by taking more proactive measures to confront criminals who have wrecked havoc on innocent and unsuspecting citizens and those sabotaging the economy of the country.
He warns mischief makers and criminally minded persons to refrain from their nefarious plans and rather work with all state actors to curb crime and criminality of all forms or face the full wrath of the law when arrested.
The CG therefore felicitates with the President and Commander-in-Chief of Nigeria’s Armed Forces, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his Vice, members of the Federal Executive Council, the Legislature, Judiciary and Nigerians in general on this year’s independence celebrations and prays for the unity and progress of the country.
