Group donate items worth millions of naira to improve welfare of Fire fighters

The  Friends of the Controller-General, Federal Fire Service, Samuel Adeyemi Olumode, have donated goods worth millions of naira to improve the welfare of Fire fighters in the country.

The delegation, led by Captain Aliyu Hammed, Chief Executive Officer of Pyatric Group Limited, said the gesture is to demonstrate their support for the CGs vision of enhancing the welfare of officers and men of the Service.

The Group during a courtesy visit to the Service Headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday congratulated the CG on his appointment.

The  leader of the delegation, Captain Aliyu Hammed, explained that the visit was initially conceived as a felicitation reception in honour of the Controller General, who was appointed to pilot the affairs of the Service on 14th August 2025. According to him, the venue for the reception had already been booked and preparations were in top gear.

However, in line with the CGs deep commitment to the welfare of his personnel, the Controller-General insisted that the funds earmarked for the celebration be redirected towards improving the welfare of firemen across the Service.”This selfless directive necessitated our visit and the presentation of essential support items to the officers.

“We came today not just to celebrate the Controller-General but to honour his selfless directive that all gestures be directed towards the welfare of his men. This donation is a reflection of our support for his leadership and vision for the Federal Fire Service.”

The items donated are 50 Raincoats,20 Umbrellas,20 Torchlights,50 Rain Boots,10 Walkie-Talkies,100 Mattresses and100 Overalls.

In his response, the Controller General expressed profound appreciation to the group for their solidarity and generosity.

In a statement signed by National PRO/ Head, Corporate Services,Federal Fire Service, Barr.Paul Abraham,the CG reiterated his unwavering passion for the welfare of officers and men, noting that service in the Fire Service is not just a duty to humanity but also to God.

 “I deeply thank you for believing in our vision and for remembering the men who bear the responsibility of safeguarding lives and property. The cancellation of any reception in my honour was deliberate. My greatest priority is the wellbeing of my officers. May God richly reward you for this gesture,” he stated.

The event also featured a fire drill demonstration by the personnel, who expressed their gratitude as direct beneficiaries of the donation.
