The Federal Fire Service in conjuction with Hoist Life Safety Systems Limited(Holisys) have flagged off a one-week digital fire detection training for men of the Service to promptly combat fire outbreaks.
The training commenced with the Federal Fire Service Zonal Command Headquarters, Lagos state and aim to cover all Zonal commands accross the nation.
The Controller General, Federal Fire Service, Engr. Jaji Abdulganiyu O. MIfire.E, MNSE commented that the training became pertinent due to the dynamism of fire disaster in the changing world. He said that the digital innovation which would be unveiled soon, will improve response time thereby reducing loss of lives and property to the barest minimum saving households and the nation from economic loss.
Participants at the training expressed excitement for being part of the innovation as well as the digital skill acquisition which is capable of increasing their work efficiency.
In a statement by the National Public Relations Officer, ACF Paul O. Abraham, the Controller-General used the medium to awaken the public on the peculiarity of the harmattan and yuletude season which is characterised by incessant fire outbreaks.
He noted that this season records most migration, cooking, and congregation where carelessness is heightened. He therefore urged everyone to take precaution in order to prevent fire outbreaks.
