NNPCL Condoles Borno Govt, Donates Relief Items to Flood Victims

The NNPC Ltd., through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm, NNPC Foundation, has donated relief items to the recent flood victims in Borno State.

During a condolence visit paid to the Borno State Government on Tuesday, the Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Mele Kyari, represented by the Executive Vice President, Business Services, Mr. Danladi Inuwa conveyed the Company’s heartfelt message to the Government and people of the state over the disaster. 

The NNPCL in a statement said the materials provided to the affected communities during the visit include essential supplies such as food, toiletries, beddings and other household items.

The Borno State flooding took place in September 2024 in Borno State, Nigeria in after the collapse of the Alau Dam on 10 September. The Maiduguri and Jere local government areas were particularly affected: according to the National  Emergency Management Agency, over 70% of the residents in Maiduguri were displaced. At least 30 people died.The United Nations refugee agency in Nigeria described it as the worst to hit the city in thirty years, affecting over one million people.
