NIPR Calls for Protection of Nigeria’s Reputation, Felicitates with Citizens at New Year

Must read

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), has congratulated Nigerians on their resilience against difficult economic realities of the previous year, while calling on all citizens to join efforts with the Institute to protect the reputation of the country.

In a New Year goodwill message, the President and Chairman of Governing Council of NIPR, Dr. Ike Neliaku appealed to Nigerians especially the youths to shun any temptation to delve into acts capable of de-marketing the country’s reputation before the global community in searching for better means of survival.

According to a statement by the Institute’s Director of Public Relations, Mr. Stanley Ogadigo, the President expressed concern over the degrading treatment Nigerians face outside the shores of the land due to certain negative activities of few individuals, saying there is hardly any citizen who is not disturbed by how an average countryman is treated with disdain in the international scene.

“This is why we must all take up the gauntlet to rebuild and re-invent our reputation, because it is what defines us as a people. As a country, we must shun tendencies that do not represent or promote our true culture, values, identity and what we stand for”, the statement reads in part.

While expressing optimism that measures being put in place by the Federal Government will usher in relief to millions of Nigerians affected by the current economic pressure in coming days, Dr. Neliaku said NIPR will continue to collaborate with relevant agencies in its advocacy campaign to build a formidable reputation for Nigerian before its global partners.

He wished all Nigerians a fruitful 2024.
